Local SEO-Targeting Counties Vs Major Cities?
Hello, I'm working with a client who only provides services to 7 counties in the northeast ohio area. I conducted keyword research based off the DMA region that included each of the 7 counties. I'm working on optimizing services pages for the general region. In the future I anticipate creating local landing pages for every service and each specific area.
My question is this: While I'm doing on-page seo (titles, meta, h1s) for the more general services pages, would it make sense to target "northeast ohio" or mention counties?
Follow up question: When optimizing for "near me" searches has anyone tested using counties vs cities?
If the services are local, this should be noted on the product home page. To avoid a situation in which the customer calls from outside the company's area of operation. The following subpages should contain in the tag, in addition to the keyword, the names of the counties in which the services are provided.
Mention counties also for a good result.
